Celebrating The Start of The Salmon Season
When people with the passion get together to celebrate something special and a new hope, it becomes clear why working together to show the rest of the world is so important. 1st February sees the opening of salmon and sea trout fishing across the Forth’s river and although not all fisheries open it is a special day. Gathering together, talking about the past year and the hope for the coming year brings a special bond across all attending whether an owner, manager, angler or scientist.
Fishing Around the Forth is evidence of this and Opening Day celebrations on the banks of the Teith below Doune Castle this year a chance to celebrate not just the day but the whole fishery and it’s opportunities following the launch of this hub. The passion which drives the work of the Forth District Salmon Fishery Board and the Forth Rivers Trust with the fishery owners, managers, clubs and associations has allowed a truly collaborative project to showcase the magnificent and varied fishing opportunities available. Not for profit but to invite others to join in and to support the ongoing work.
We wish everyone fishing around the Forth tight lines and success for the new season.
