This privacy policy sets out how the Forth District Salmon Fishery Board (Forth DSFB or the Board) uses and protects any information that you give when you use this website.

Forth DSFB is committed to ensuring that your privacy is protected. Information collected through this website will only be used in accordance with the Privacy Policy available here.

The Board has rights and duties under the Salmon and Freshwater Fisheries (Consolidation) (Scotland) Act 2003 which necessitate the processing of data. The Board accepts that it is a data controller for the purposes of the General Data Protection Regulation and that it must comply with the following six principles for the handling of personal data: –

  • processed for limited purposes
  • adequate and relevant and limited to what is necessary
  • accurate and where necessary up to date
  • not kept in a way that people can be identified from it for longer than is necessary
  • processed in a way that ensures appropriate security

What we collect

  1. Non-personal information, such as IP address (the location of the computer on the internet), pages accessed, and files downloaded. This will help us to determine how many people use our sites, how often you visit, and which pages you like the most. This information does not tell us anything about you as an individual, such as where you live.
  2. Personal information, such as name, postal address, telephone number, e-mail address, information about your interests and hobbies etc. We collect this information only in connection with specific activities, such as questionnaire registration, newsletter sign ups and feedback forms. The information is either needed to fulfil your request or to enable us to provide you with a more personalised service by analysing or reviewing the information that you provide to ensure that we give you access to or send you the information that you are interested in.

What we do with the information we gather

Security

When submitting your personal information, you will be given the option not to be included in mailings from the Forth DSFB (whether by post, e-mail or other electronic messaging, or telephone). If you do agree to receive this information and later decide that you no longer wish to be contacted, you can let us know by e-mailing: board@forthdsfb.org

We may use other companies to provide services on our behalf, including sending postal mail or e-mails and analysing data. We will only provide those companies with the information they need to deliver the service and they are prohibited from using that information for any other purpose. We require all such companies to treat your personal information as fully confidential and to fully comply with all applicable UK Data Protection and consumer legislation.

We may disclose aggregate statistics about our site visitors to describe our services to prospective partners, advertisers and other reputable third parties and for other lawful purposes, but these statistics will include no personally identifying information.

  • Provide a personalised service to you when you visit our websites e.g. by customising the content and or layout of our pages for each individual user.
