Due to maintenance works being undertaken by the operator, the Deanston (Lanrick) Weir fish pass has been temporarily closed. This was closed without prior notification to the Forth DSFB. It is expected to be closed until at least the end of next week.
Whilst water levels are reasonably high some fish can get over the weir itself but the passage of salmon is clearly restricted to a considerable extent.
The Forth DSFB is working with the operator to ensure that the works are completed as quickly as possible. Forth DSFB staff are visiting the area regularly and SEPA are aware of the closure.
